The driver's side rear wheel bearing was replaced recently and now there's a thumping noise. Sounds as if the tire is going flat.

So, this can happen when grease has contaminated the brake pads, which sometimes happens when the repair job is done. Also, I would check the rear wheel tire lugs. Here is a guide to help. You can remove the tire as well to check to make sure the brake caliper is secure.

Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Thank you for your response to my question. It turned out to be the passenger side wheel bearing. I now have to find out why this is the third time I have replaced this side.

It could be a bent differential housing or low gear oil. Here is the job being done on a similar vehicle, the process is the same:

Please go over this guide and report back.
