Just bought the vehicle listed above, the previous owner said it was in great mechanical condition. Now a week later the A/C won’t work, it sounds like it won’t shift gears when I drive it making a loud noise and when I’m parked it sounds like something is knocking and hitting together. I’m worried it’s about to fail on me. I can send a video of it making the sounds if needed to help better.

Hi,

How would you best describe the sound? For example, does it sound metalic? Is there anything that makes it worse or better?

If you could record and upload the sounds, that would be very helpful. Hopefully, I will recognize where to start checking.

Let me know.

I’m not sure what to do Joe. I’ve only had it since September 20 and like I mentioned in my first post the guy I bought it from said everything was great with it mechanically. He said his grandma bought it new in 2010 and drove it all these years and has never had any issues. When I started hearing this noise, I knew something didn’t sound right and I’m just worried something may be wrong and I do not know what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, the A/C has quit on me and when I drive it sounds like it wants to shift gears but doesn’t. It doesn’t do that when I’m driving slowly. Any input on this too would be great.

Hi,

I certainly hear it. To me, it almost sounds like a serpentine belt tensioner flapping because it lost tension. Have you checked to see if the belt is somewhat loose?

Let me know.
