Loud clanking noise

I just had the starter on my car awd installed yesterday after not
being able to turn it on. Now there is a loud clanking noise when I turn it on.
There was a T shaped curved bracket that came with the starter but not
installed because the old starter didn't have it. Could that be it? What is it called?

That is a support bracket.

Can you post a video of the noise so I can hear it?

Got it.

That sounds terrible.

Make sure the mounting bolts are tight. Beyond that, you need another starter.
