Making a hissing noise, like a flat tire?

Hi,

Could the sound be coming from the exhaust? A partially clogged catalytic converter can do this.

Can you tell where approximately the sound comes from? Is it loud enough for you to record and upload for me to hear? Is the A/C working properly?

Thanks Joe, as I'm facing the car it sounded like it was coming from the right side and a funny smell, my son says it smells like a gocart? I don't hear the noise today, but the smell is still there, and my A/C is not cold like it was yesterday?

How would you best describe the smell? A go-cart can make many different smells, so I'm not sure what to suspect.

Does it smell like rubber burning, something electrical, or does it have a sweet smell to it? Since the A/C isn't working as it did, I'm questioning if you have a belt slipping causing a burnt rubber smell.

It's one thing to ask for a pic of something or the audio of a sound, but I haven't figured out how to have a smell sent. LOL

Lol! Very true it's kind of a sweet smell. Not burning or electrical.

Hi,

If it has a sweet smell, that is usually coolant. Check the coolant level to make sure it is full. If it isn't, I recommend pressure testing the system to see if you can recreate the sound. You will need a pressure tester, but most parts stores will lend one to you.

This is done when the engine is cold, so it is easier to check things without getting burned. LOL
