Will not shift

If the check engine light is on, the first thing you need to have done is scan the computer for trouble codes. That will guide us to what is causing the problem. Many things can cause it.

Sounds like it is most likely a transmission issue, does the speedometer work?

My question was not answered.

Does the speedometer work I think is the response Joe was looking for. It sounds like it could be the turbine speed sensor. Here is the location so you can check it out. Please run the codes as well.
