No sign of coolant leak on ground. no water in oil, no oil in water. no white smoke from exhaust. have to add half a gallon of anti freeze every week. car runs great. Does not overheat. Where is this anti-freeze going? what else can I check?

You need to get a cooling system pressure tester and check it out. You can borrow it from AutoZone. Here is a how-to guide: https://www.2carpros.com/articles/radiator-pressure-test

You should not pump it to more than 17 psi though, as that could cause damage. Basically, you are going to pump it up and then listen for a hissing sound. Follow it to your leak. Be sure to check inside the car if you cannot hear it outside (as it could be a leaky heater core). Good luck and let us know what you find.
