Lose of oil pressure then when cold it jumps up

when i stop my truck loses oil pressure but it comes right back. then in the mornings and on colder days it jumps up to like 60 or 70 psi. I'm also losing oil about every three days.

Hello, I'm Danny.

Have you tried disconnecting the instrument cluster gauge and installing a mechanical gauge on the engine for a reading? Remove the oil pressure switch on the engine block and screw in a mechanical gauge to see if a problem is with the cluster gauge or oil pressure switch. The reading should be 30-80 psi at 3,000 rpm or higher. I've attached a picture of the oil pressure switch location below.Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
