Loose tube in engine?

I was changing the battery in my car and noticed this random tube that was just open to the air. is this anything I'm portent or just the wiper fluid tube?

Thanks for the images. It looks like a vent for the transmission, can you see where the other end is or where it goes from there?

Unfortunately, I can't see any other broken line or place where this could have popped off of.

Oh, you meant the other end. No, it goes onto the larger hose which goes under the fuse box so I can't see where it originated from. If this is the transmission vent, is it supposed to be like this? There were a few drops of liquid on it but to be fair it was raining today so it could just be water .

I was going to see it looks like a vent for the transmission. If you are not having any issues, I would not worry about it.
