Code p0500, location of VSS transmission gear sensor for speedometer needed

Hi, I want to replace the gear driven sensor on the transmission. i have looked for it and have not seen it yet. i have a factory manual on the car and it shows it being on the top of transmission underneath the intake manifold. I have taken it off and still don't see it yet.
any help or a better diagram would sure be appreciated very much i have the engine listed above and a U250E trans-axle.

The transmission speed sensor is located on top of the transmission near the starter motor area. See image below:

Replacement
1. Remove battery.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove air cleaner hose no.1.
4. Remove air cleaner bracket.
5. Remove air cleaner inlet no.1.

there are 3 sensors that sensor is magnetic the sensor I am looking is the gear driven speedometer sensor

That is the sensor for code P0500. It reads the transmission speed in the transmission and sends the data to the cluster.

yes there are 2 sensors on top below the air cleaner. I have replaced both of the those, but where the sensor with the shaft and gear that sends the signal to the speedometer? thank you for your help I appreciate it.

If I can jump in, looks like you already replaced the NC and NT speed sensors. These are the magnetic sensors that you are referring too.

The driven gear "sensor" that you appear to be looking for is the vehicle speed sensor.

Here is a video and a picture of a 1997-2001 Camry. I could not find them from your model year but it should be in the same area. The first two diagrams with the drawings are from your model year.

Keep in mind they say this is in the transmission but it is actually in the differential part of the transmission because it is considered the output speed sensor.
