Where is the Manual Transmission Dipstick located?

It sounds like you are seeing your clutch master cylinder reservoir. I will add an Image below.

Your transmission since it is a manual does not have a dipstick. It has a fill and drain hole on the side of it. I will add an image of this for you. I circled both plugs and highlighted the fill plug for you.

To check your transmission fluid, you will have to remove the fill plug and the fluid should come out of it just at the bottom. If it doesn't you will need to fill it. Mitsubishi recommends Texaco MTX Fluid FM. You might have to go to the dealer to get it. It doesn't seem to be available.

Royal Purple has a fluid they recommend for it called XPR 5W20. I got this from a cross-reference chart from their site. I would call them to make sure it is accurate. Their Technical Support Department phone number is 888-382-6300.

Your transmissions fluid capacity is 2.10 quarts, but Mitsubishi says to fill it until the fluid starts to come out of the fill hole. Both checking and filling is done with the transmission cold.

As far as the reservoir being empty it sounds like I said earlier is for the clutch master cylinder. If you could send a picture of it to me, I can help identify it for you.
