2000 Lincoln TC V8 112,000 - Recently bought used. Now get huge blasts of gas odor that only last about 20 seconds, then goes away. Gas odor may come and go at any time, but can always be achieved with a quick, hard, sustained acceleration. Gas odor may be stronger with windows down. And may be stonger on passenger side of car. Mechanic is stumped. Wants me to narrow down origin of gas odor. Can't because it goes away before I can pull over and find. Any suggestions on where he should look please? He has already checked injectors and other obvious places to no avail. Thanks in advance.
