similar to many other Lincolns on this site.

Car cold starts fine; excellent engine performance when driving, no check engine lights, no noises. Problem occurs even when security alarm is not set.

Seems to be happening more frequently with warmer air temps.

Car fails to re-start particularly when warm after a very short shutdown. Cranks fine. Will briefly fire on 1st try, then immediately die or stumble like it is dieseling for a few seconds. Subsequent attempts will crank with no hint of firing. Will fire with starter fluid, but wont stay running. Replacing fuel pump shutdown relay doesnt help. Will start immediately several hours later with no hint of problem. Another site said a throttle position sensor could cause this.
Seems related to heat building up under the hood. Any thoughts that would rule out key switch, intermittent fuel pump or PCM? I think I have better luck when I try to start with throttle slightly open.

Does throttle position sensor have anything to do with fuel delivery? (how does one donate???)

First thing I would do is check fuel pressure when it lays down. 30-45 psi
