Transmission problem
1995 Lincoln Town Car V8 Two Wheel Drive 130000 miles

Okay i have a 95 lincoln towncar...when i put the car in reverse nothing happens as if the car is in neutral...everything else works fine...what could this be..please help

IS the fluid level good for the transmission? If so it will need troubleshooting. I would first look at the trouble codes that are listed in the computer for the transmission first.

okay update i actually the reverse lights to come on so i got excited thinking the car might actually go in reverse but to my surprise the car went forward...what is going on?

My guess is there is a problem with the prndl switch. The car doesn't know what gear it's in.

Any codes?
