1995 Lincoln Town Car Brake line replacement

My brake lines rotted out. I had patched a length about a foot long previously. I need to replace the entire brake line. Manufacturers pre-molded lines are no longer available. I will need to custom shape the new line from the master cylinder to the rear brakes. Measuring is difficult. I would like to know the length of the line I should start with. Can you advise?

Hello,

I would suggest trying to remove the old one whether it just be a few inches or the whole thing so you can get the right size and the right ends.

As far as measuring or lengths you should look at were the line has to go, if need to go over or along side gas tank then you should use a 6 foot section to get by it then take measurement for rest.

Measurements don't have to be exact if it is to long you can just put a few extra bends in it.

Also, you don't need to make the bends to match the original. As long as you can get from point a to point b and secure the line so it doesn't rub you will be good to go.

Thank you. The dealer wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for the job. I could not afford it. I was even considering going the cash for clunkers route. The car is still good looking and has a few good years left in it. You guys are great.
