1993 Lincoln Town Car please help

when i turn on my a/c sometimes it works for a few minutes then stops blowing cold air. other times it just doesn't work at all. the other day i noticed that when i turned the a/c on the clutch engages and disengages, the relay also made a click sound evertime in would disengage. when i tried it the agian yesterday the clutch wouldn't even engage at all. the heater works. what could be causing this to happen[img:564701f02c]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/245980_KIF_2075_1.jpg[/img:564701f02c]

Low freon level have it checked. Has system been coverted from R12 to R143 ? If not hang on to your hat because R 12 is very pricey and maybe hadr to find.

If it has been converted to R134 there is usually a tag underhood advising of the change. The other way is look at the fill ports if they look like a tire schrader vave then R12 if bigger and no threads then R134. You can get a refill kit at a parts store for r134.
