Engine Performance problem
1992 Lincoln Town Car V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140k miles

In February I bought a 1992 Lincoln Town Car from my father. It ran perfectly as it only has 140k miles on it. He had the transmission services, installed new rear susp, oil change, brakes, tires, roders, the works. About 2 months ago my car broke down at an intersection. It just sputted out in the road. I learned that my fuel filter was clogged. I replaced the fuel filter. When I did that, the line around the rear connect of filter was leaking so I replaced the line from the filter to the tank. I continued to have the same problem. Its like it runs out of gas. I found out that my new line was kinked so I had the line repaired. Last week I broke down again! The fuel pump seems to be working, as it makes noise when I turn the key over. Symtoms are: Reduced power, occasional sputtering when driving(like its misfiring), and ultimately the "run out of gas" or not gettin gas, then breakdown. It does restart after some time. What could this be?

Check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure tester to rule out the intank pick-up sock and the fuel pump.
