Hi. Yesterday my navigator would not shift out of park. I could hear the usual click when i pressed the brake pedal so o knew it wasn't a fuse. I even tried tge manual override but it would not move. Since I was in the way, I had to move fast. I removed the center console and detatched the plate around the shifter. I noticed that pushing the button did not make the shift lock rise so I pushed it up with a screwdriver and was able to shift. Turns out a plastic piece inside the shift knob was broken and therefore not unlockibg the lever.
The problem now is that tgere is a circuitboard inside the shifter plate I disconnected. The wires were installed to tight tolerances with no slack so i had to disconnect them to remove tge plate. Some wires came off their connectors and now I don't know what order they go in. There are three connectors. One tgat had a red and black wire, one with about 8 wires but that one is still intact, and another with five wires (one red, two blacks and two whites). The red white and black are together as well as one white with one black. Anyone know what pibs they go to? Or if they have the same vehicle could check by looking? Thanks in advance!
