After having been driving for about 45 minutes I stopped at a store and left the car running while I went inside(my wife was in the car). When i came back out and got in I noticed a funny smell, like electrical burning. When I looked at the dash my traction control light was on and I could not turn it off with the button.

i drove home(about 10 minutes) and the smell was still there and light was still on. I shut off the car and popped the hood. I could smell that smell in there as well but could not see anything. I started the car again and this time it allowed me to turn off the traction control. But I am still worried about the smell. I have not driven the car since(2 days). What should I check and how, in order to be sure i can drive without something catching fire?

Thanks in advance, Marvin

There is no insurance against an intermittent short, until it is found. The only way to find it is to trace all of the traction control related components and their wiring, and open the wiring loom up and inspect it if nothing obvious can be found
