Engine Mechanical problem
1990 Lincoln Mark VII V8 Automatic

I just bought a lincoln mark VII and it was running fine but then i notice it started to get hot so i pulled over and as i was pulling over my car just died and i opened the hood and steam just stared pouring out there was oil on the engine that was like burnt red. My boyfriend said i might of just blown one blown head gaskets and he can fix it. but is that really the only thing thats wrong? And my car still runs fine for a little bit until the engine gets hot.
