If thermostat does not open then engine will begin to overheat and heater will not blow warm air correctly. Here is a guide to help walk you through the steps of the thermostat replacement with instructions and the thermostat location in the diagrams below for your car.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/replace-thermostat

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
Drain the cooling system.
Disconnect and position the lower radiator hose out of the way.
Remove the bolts and the thermostat housing.
Remove the thermostat and the O-ring.

To install:

NOTE
Clean all the sealing surfaces and inspect the O-ring seals thoroughly.

Replace the thermostat and the O-ring.
Install the bolts and the thermostat housing.
Connect the lower radiator hose.

my heater wasn't working while i was driving, it only heated up and blew hot air when the car was idoling. So, someone told me it was my thermostat when it did that. so i replaced the thermostat and now the car doesn't blow hot air at all. what could the problem be if it blew hot air before we replaced the thermostat only when the car was idoling and not driving...but now it doesn't blow hot air when idoling or driving.. Hope you can help me, thank you so much.
