Will not idle cold?

2000 Lincoln continental auto 4.8liter 78000miles Will not idle when it is cold, dies if I let off the gas. I think its just a sensor where do I start? Check engine light is not on.
Does not do it all the time.

get some gd contact electircal cleaner and clean the MAF sensor, it may be dirty enough not to work properly but not to throw a code.
