1995 Continental 141000.
4.7L

My wife took the car out and only drove for about four to five blocks when she said that she notice the car was not driving right.

She drove the car home, she said that the car was running but everything in the dash was off. I tried jumping the car but it seems like the battery was dead.

After we jumped the car my car just died right away when we disconnected the jumper cables. About a week ago I had a remote starter, in-dash CD player, and 1200 Watt amp for my subs. Everything has been running good and I had it out of town last night.

Now, when I try to start it the battery seems like it is completely drained. The dash lights went dim and seems like the battery is dead. I am charging the battery and going to see if I can drive it to my job and have one of the Mech. check it out.

I took it in to get looked at and they told me the Alternator was bad that was the U1039 error I had. I am getting it fixed at work. I am going to replace the battery next month just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the help I will let you guys know if this fixed the problem.

Well, I had the alternator replaced and now I have a new error P0118. This is what I found out so far what this code means, Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input.

Please someone help me out on this one, my wife and I use this car to get to work . We only have one car at this point and time.

Would this be something I could replace on my own, because funds are super tight now. I was lucky that I only had to pay around 270.00 for them to replace the alternator, thank god I work at a dealership.

It was the ECT sensor that just needed to be cleaned.
