Suspension problem
1998 Lincoln Continental V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 140k miles

My vehicle suffered a tire blow-out earlier today and as a result, was towed a little over 2 miles to a local auto repair shop. Prior to this incident, the vehicle was running and driving as normal. After picking up the vehicle, I was told by the mechanic that the suspension was damaged. Mechanic informed me that this was the state of the vehicle upon arrival. I contacted the tow company who adamantly insisted it was not their fault. How can I tell if it was in fact the fault of the towing company that my suspension was damaged versus unfortunate timing with normal wear and tear of the vehicle? The vehicle was towed by a flatbed truck and no additional items were used to load the vehicle. Tow guy attached the chain and lifted the vehicle up onto the bed of the truck. Please help me determine who was at fault for this costly damage.

Hi there,

If this is damage due to the car being dragged up onto the flat bed with a chain attached incorrectly, you will see fresh marks on any damaged component from the chain.
