1998 Lincoln Continental V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

In the trunk area of a 1998 lincoln continental an electronic control unit is mounted in the front of the truck up above just behind the seat and next to the amplifier.

What ECU is it (ignition, sound, etc.)?

Panasonic made???

I traced a battery draining short to an ECM connector. The ECM is located in the front of the trunk up above. I normally do not work on automobiles (I work on very heavy equipment and aviation) and am not familar with these type PLC's (ECM). When I disconnect the ECM connector I lose the draw.

I tired locating the ECM using the ford number on the internet with no luck.

I just want to know what ECM is this? Is it the igniton ECM or engine ECM of what? It was manufactured by Sylvania for Ford.

I am trying to determine if I should replace the ECM of get a schematic and trace the ECM inputs and outputs for a short.

Thanks,

Keith Barnett

I talked to Ford earlier today and it turns out the ECM is the adjustable suspension ECU.

Thanks for the help,
