Hi vopamela,

Check the door switch. It is either not closing correctly or is shorted to body. Manually push the door switch and check if the light goes off.

That eliminates the switch as the cause.

Is the door courtesy light staying on as well?

The circuit is being grounded somewhere or the Lighting Control Module (LCM) could be faulty.

LCM is located at left side of instrument panel.
Would you be able to perform diagnostics and do you have a test lamp?

You mentioned unplugging the door switch did not result in the dome light and beeper going off so it is not the cause.

Get a DVOM and unplug the Left Front Door Module, (power window switch assembly of driver door panel).

Unplug the door switch.

Look for a Dark Blue wire and test it for continuity with body. If continuity is present, the wire is shorted between the door switch and the control unit. Usually such shorting would occur around the door pillar where the wireharness comes out of the body and goes into the door panel. Du to constant opening and closing of the door, the wires can be exposed resulting in shorting.

Not the LCM. You need to check the Left Front Door Module which is incorporated into the master control switches.
