lights go out in dash board and come back on when lightght shife is bumped. Also shift light quit working to show gears at noight

The light switch left hand shift at steering wheel goes out until you bump the shift. Also the lights on the floor shift did the same thing but will not come on at all now. Is it a loose connection or a short or a fuse?
