Liftgate will not open with the remote?

So when to open it from the inside can you hear the relay working or is it purely mechanical latch? The BCM handles the request for the remote to open the latch. Also does he remote work on everything else? It sounds like the latch might be bad or the BCM. I would run a CAN scan to see if any codes come up for it.
