It works on all buttons but will not stay up. Once it opens it will not work by the button when it starts to close by itself. I have to push it back up then push the button and it will close and latch.

So, this happens when the gas lift shock and power lift shock goes out, I would do the gas shock first because it is cheaper. Here is how to change the two out. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.

Has nothing to do with the buttons. When you push any button to open the lift gate it opens up all the way but starts closing on its own when it reaches the maximum point.

Gotcha, this happens when the lift module gets weak and reaches its maximum allow amperage and thinks there is something in the way of the liftgate causing it to go back down. did you lube the hinges with wd40, this can help.
