Lexus ES 400 Timing Belt

Is it wise to install a new water pump when replacing the timing belt on a 1998 Lexus LS 400 with 90,000 miles even though there is no indication of a water pump problem?

I would recommend you change the water pump. For if the pump goes out before the next belt change interval, the technician will have to pull the timing belt to get to the pump. I think it would be money well spent.

I replaced mind on my Lexus SC400.
