Engine Performance problem
1994 Lexus LS 400 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic doesnt miles

My car while sitting in park it ildes up and down , but when i put in drive it stops. I was going to change my air compressor but i wanted to see if it worked, my engine worked fine until i pt the belt around the compressor, because the previous owner had bypassed the air compressor for reason dont know. I owuld like to know what may possiably be the problem did i knock something a lose or what.
