the lights on the dash board go out, and also when they come on they flicker. This is all without warning. What is the problem?

Such intermittent faults are usuallu caused by bad connectivity of wire connectors or meter cluster printed circuit boards.
When problem occurs, check if the exterior lights are working, if no, the lighting switch could be the cause.
