I got two opinions on timing belt issue, I agree that my timing belt needs to be replaced, I had car since 28,000 and have not replaced yet. One mech. says I need to replace belt only $369 repair, the says I need to replace water pump and timing belt at same time $660 repair, big difference in repair cost. Who is right?

Do you have other suggestion?

Hi there,

Both prices are about correct for the work done, water pump job may be a tad high, but the difference is that the water pump is not a mandatory replacement when doing a cam belt, some opt to do it as a matter of precaution as it is all stripped down to the point of replacement when you do the belt, this is really a matter of choice, but the pump if ok dose not need to be replaced with the belt.
