Left door master power switch swap

I'm wanting to switch out my vehicle listed above interior door panels with panels out of a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe. They both have same options, power windows,power locks and power mirrors. The switches are different with different connectors. Could I change out the connectors on the 2001 to fit the 2004 switch? I was told that it's not possible as the 2004's need to be programed. Has anyone ever had success with this ?

They are correct as the 2004 runs through a door control module. So if this wasn't the case and it wasn't a module then you could just cut and splice the wires together for what each controls.

However, based on what you are seeing with this below, you are not able rewire the switch to work through this one. I attached the connector views below for your review.
