Hello, I had bought Cougar Motor LED headlights to convert my halogen projector lights to brighter LED's. This car has factory led daytime strip on the bottom. When I installed the headlights, the lights work for like 2 minutes and then after that it would start flickering. I am not getting any dashboard errors. They sent me some resistors to install which didn’t help it either and they also sent me new pair of bulbs. Both of them are doing the same thing. I have seen other cars with converted LED's that is working perfectly fine. Please help me with this.

Hello, I'm Danny.

Usually flickering is associated with a ballast but I'm sure yours does not have any. I've attached a picture below. Is this the plug and play style you installed? Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hello again.

Do you happen to have or remember the order number? I'm trying to contact the technical assistance department directly. Thanks again.

Yes that’s correct. I installed the resistors and decoders the way they told me to but the headlights were still behaving the same as before which in this case was flickering.

Hello,

The headlight will flicker when the front SAM control unit is going out. Here is how you can replace the unit in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find.

I don’t think it’s the front SAM module as the halogen bulbs are working without any flickering issue.

"headlights were still behaving the same as before" so I thought the headlights before were flickering. It sounds like the new lights and ballasts are defective which is common. I would would send those back and get another set.

I would think the LED light are not compatible with your lighting system. The headlight only flicker when they are installed can you try another brand? It sounds like the resistance is off.

Can you recommend a brand for me? I’ve seen a lot of Lasfit bulbs installed on Mercedes.

I am not big on changing the bulbs but if you see Lasfit bulbs working I would try those. also if you go on Amazon the reviews should tell you if they work okay or not.

All the cars that I saw with converted LED's had halogen fog lights. I have LED daytime in the bottom. So I am hesitating to buy any bulbs at the moment.
