Back in September 2025 I had the timing chain, gaskets seals, and valves replaced due to oil leak leaking in car would not start. At that time there was no engine light even on. Now here we are only six months later and the car is leaking transmission fluid which I thought was oil but seems to be now that it is transmission leaking. The car does start but is idling heavy and throwing me code P0016 and P0017. The man that replaced the timing chain in September told me there was metal shavings on the solenoids and he was not sure where they’re coming from at this point I just honestly don’t know what to do or where to start.

Hello, your symptoms sound like it will need a warranty timing chain replacement, or something was done incorrectly. Either way the two codes you mentioned are correlation codes so it is a very good chance that the engine is out of time. Make sure that all timing components are replaced at the same time, as well as the engine oil changed during the service. If they removed the engine to do this work the transmission could be leaking from proper reinstallation but that is just speculation. Please keep us updated with how this goes.
