Shakes or Wobbles problem
2004 Land Rover Discovery 2 72,000 miles

2004 Land Rover Discovery with 72,000 miles. Began with mild steering wheel shimmy when braking between 40-50 mph. Has worsened to violent back and forth oscillation when braking, still at those speeds. In addition, now has mild shimmy when driving or accelerating through these speeds. Rotors and pads less than nine months old. Wheels balanced and have been rotated twice since this began with no change. Does not pull to either side at any time. Lifted front end and shook wheels to check bearings, but noticed no play. Tires in good condition, 1/2" or more tread depth and appear evenly worn. Seems to be a bit of excess play in steering wheel when driving over uneven surfaces, even more pronounced when turning. Thanks for any help you can provide.
