when engine is warm, and its hot outside, my discovery loses power when accelerating. it backfires through the intake. if I shut it off, it doesn't want to restart. I've checked for fuel pressure when it is acting up and get straight vapor from the fuel line. when I bleed the vapor off it then starts. what could cause the vapor build up in the fuel rail?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation, if it is vapor lock, this is due to a local heat source that is affection the fuel line or excessive under bonnet temps, you can get heat lagging that will help, or check for any cooling system or air flow issue that may be causing higher than normal temps under the bonnet, if you live in a hot climate, i would look at the lagging option, also check for a faulty air flow meter as these engines are renowned for having faults with them and also ensure that the fuel filter is clean as well, start here.
