1997 Land Rover Discovery U joint

Hi there,

Replacing universal joints is something that really should be done by a mechanic, you can easily damage the new joint and as they are not that cheap, if you have never done one, i would get a mechanic to do this, if you want to save a bit of money, maybe you can remove the shaft and take that in with the uni.

I was just asking because i found them on Autozone.com for 12.99 the guy that was driving it siad i broke while he was going do the road and snap it broke it didnt do much damage to the rod or the axel but it did ding up the rod a little at the end. should i look for a new rod as well?

That uni sound cheap and nasty, i would be looking for a quality uni, the drive shaft can be checked and re balanced, i think this would be cheaper than a new one, may be Ebay is the go for a complete shaft?
