In replacing the alternator, how do you release the tension on the belt at the belt tension pulley ?

hello .. thanks for the donation .. much appreciated Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove viscous coupling. Release drive belt tension by turning tension adjuster clockwise. With tension released, remove belt from generator pulley. Release tension adjuster, and remove serpentine belt. Mark direction of rotation if serpentine belt is to be reused. To install, reverse removal procedures. hope this helps
