Lacks power misses when transmission is put into drive

I put a new timing valve cover gasket plugs wires. When I start it up it runs fin, throttle it in park sounds fine, as soon as I put in drive it sounds like it skips and when I drive it like misses or stalls or lacks power.

I would start by removing the spark plugs one by one and inspect the porcelain areas for hairline cracks, these get damaged in shipping and handling quite often. If they all look good, put them all back in, remove one plug boot and lay it against a metal object to ground it then start the engine and spray the boot with water and look for any arcing out the side of the boot. From my experience this sounds like a type a misfire and usually due to a plug or wire that is faulty,most often though it's a cracked plug. Here is a guide also that may help:
