Lacking power

2017 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER
1,100 MILES • 2.7L • 4 CYL • 2WD • AUTOMATIC

This vehicle is struggling to pull its own weight plus six people. it has an inline four cylinder is not helping enough. Not sure if it is turbocharged though, no mod on factory settings yet.

Any suggestion on improving its horsepower under legal mod limits, by not losing its insurance. Please help.

There is no way you are going to change the horsepower on the vehicle. You just apparently bought a vehicle not capable of filling your needs. Buying a four cylinder engine in an SUV and then expecting to fully load it with six people is being a bit naive. I would talk to the dealer about possibly trading into something more fitting your needs.
