I took my 05 Dodge stow and go to a professional mechanic he called me 3 days later and showed me multiple boxes from different dealers with e-brake cables then said he gives up! He was the third mechanic I tried.
(I told him he was the first) he said the same thing everyone else is saying the replacement cables don't fit. On the internet I read they make a mounting bracket that makes the cable fit. It's aftermarket and I heard it's been discontinued which doesn't make much sense. Again, these mechanics haven't heard anything about this or have given me any insight as how to fix.

A fourth mechanic I talked to told me to bring it in to his garage and he said the other mechanics don't know but they make an extended cable!
I'm not sure if I believe that!
My name is Matthew and i'd appreciate a reply whether or not I find it helpful! Thank you!

Hi,

Is it the left rear cable that isn't fitting? If so, by how far? There are different cables. They make them for the long wheelbase. Also, they are different if you have rear drum brakes or rear disc brakes. Also, and don't laugh, the rear seat plays a role.

Let me know brake design, long wheelbase or not, and so on. Anything you can think of that will help.

If you look at the pic below, I highlighted some of the variations and part numbers.

Let me know.

Joe

it's the front cable!! I'm not sure how to send more than one picture. The picture is of an aftermarket mounting bracket that they apparently don't make anymore. It's rusted!

Hi,

The first pic above looks like a connector between the main front cable and the two rear ones. Is that correct?
