Knocking while turning

Every time I turn the steering wheel there is almost like a knocking sound. A rubbing sound like it is striping. CV joints? Axle? It cannot turn right anymore. Help me please!

This does sound like a failed CV. best option is a set of change over drive shafts, knocking on lock is systematic for a failed CV.
