Knock sensor location and replacement?

The sensor is located under the intake manifold.

Knock Sensor Replacement:

1. Remove the intake manifold See: Intake Manifold > Removal and Replacement > Intake Manifold Removal/Installation.

2. Remove the injector base See: Intake Manifold > Removal and Replacement > Injector Base Removal/Installation.

3. Disconnect the knock sensor connector (A).

4. Remove the knock sensor (B).

5. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Removal

1. Remove the engine cover.

2. Disconnect the breather pipe (A), then remove the intake air duct (B).

3. Disconnect the throttle actuator connector (A), the EVAP canister purge valve connector (B), the water bypass hoses (C), the MAP sensor connector (D), and the EVAP canister purge hose (E), then plug the water bypass hoses.

4. Remove the harness clamp (F).

5. Disconnect the PCV hose (A), the brake booster vacuum hose (B), and the IMT actuator connector (C).


6. Remove the upper cover mounting bolts and nuts sequentially in three steps, then remove the upper cover (A).

7. Remove the intake manifold mounting bolts and nuts sequentially in three steps.

8. Remove the intake manifold.

Recent OBDII code reads P0325 indicating a faulty knock sensor on my van. Additionally, the TCS light comes on after driving about a mile. I saw a diagram showing the knock sensor for the 2002 Honda Odyssey on one of your threads Nov 7, 2009, (KHLow2008 says it is on the left side of the engine.) The diagram shows it to be in the central area of the front of the engine. Please clarify the location for me, as there are several sensors in the diagram that I cannot locate (CKP and PSP switch). Is the wiring harness wrapped together with other wires, or does it stand alone? Are there other causes that might generate the warning lights?

It's under the intake manifold. Did you check the knock sensor wire harness? Rodents like to chew that wire.

Hi dickcarrtx, Here is a diagram of the knock sensor loction, left side of engine.

The P0325 knock sensor circuit malfunction code is setting and after a few minutes the TCS light comes on.I found a red/yellow wire just behind the battery tray that had nearly or had been eaten in two by a squirl that had taken up residence under the hood. Because it was so close to the multi-wire plug I had to "jump" across the plug with the 18ga patch wire that I soldered and shrink wrapped. It had no effect on the codes being set. Do I need to replace the knock sensor? If so, according to my Haines manual, the upper intake plenum and fuel rail need to be removed to get to it. Is that intake plenum gasket reusable? Can I just loosen the fuel rail on the applicable side and move it enough to get the socket by to get to thr sensor?

It calls for 4.6 hours to change it so it's going to require a lot of disassembly. You're going to have to verify the integrity of the wire back to the PCM before you decide to change the sensor.

Rodent usually like to chew the knock sensor wire, check the knock sensor wire just below the powersteering pump, if the wire is broken just replace the knock sensor wire harness. You can replace the knock sensor wire harness by removing the powersteering pump and some right tools.

I have honda odyssey 98 engine code = F23A8 and check engine light is on the trouble code the knock sensor where is located in engine ?

The knock sensor is near the oil filter. Hera re diagrams to help you see.
