Knock Sensor Code P0332

No, that won't work. When you delete the codes, the system needs to complete an emission readiness test on each circuit related to the emissions system.

After reset, they will be able to tell because it will indicate, IM not ready. To reset the system's readiness, you need to drive the vehicle until, one at a time, they reset. If there is a bad knock sensor, it will trip the light again.

I don't know where you are located, but in PA, you can have one monitor not reset and still pass.

Thank you for your help! In Texas I can have one code, but the check engine light has to be off. This is the only code, but I can’t get the light to stay off. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

Has the knock sensor been replaced? Is the P0332 the only code present?

As far as the light, clear all codes and drive it until either one monitor is not reset. Hopefully, the knock sensor will be part of the last monitors to set. Once there is one left, get it inspected before the light returns.

However, please understand, the sensor may be part of the first monitoring system to reset and turn the light right back on.

Let me know if there are additional codes. Hopefully, we can just fix it, so you don't have to worry about the issue.
