1993 Kia Sportage oil loss

1993 Kia Sportage 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

I was told at the garage that fixed my oil leak that "high pressure" caused the head gasket to blow out. This does not sound right to me.

head gasket would need ALOT of pressure to blow out. if you wanna see its condition perform a cylinder pressure test on all the cylindewrs.
