MY drivers door handles will not work in or out. I froze and now neither one will work will it take a lot to fix this

I had a similar problem but the lock was stuck for months until I had my father fix it. The lock mechanism was rusty but after a good cleaning of all metal parts it's as good as new! All that moisture just corrodes the metal after time. Now I need to do the other door.
He had to gain access through the interior door panel and yes it cracked it in half, so we found a new one at the local Pick-n-Pull or junk yard for $15. I could have lived with a crack door panel but for the low price why not replace?
