The serpentine belt is adjusted by an automatic belt tensionier. The tensionier pivots so you need to turn it so it is in a position to replace the belt. Here is a guide to help you step by step with instructions in the diagrams below to show you how on your car.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

Generally speaking if a car alternator is bad and you crank the car and remove a battery cable the car will die. Is this true on a 2006 Sedona

Physics is physics. Just because it's a Korean car doesn't change that.

Thank you sir!!!!! I shall begin removing the alternator this morning and replace. The van provides transportation to and from 1st grade, kindergarten and head start classes for three of my four granddaughters. This problem began last week as did school and has been hindering my plans of spoiling the forth girl as I have the other three. I have been spending all of our time as the older girls taxi service and not as poppa Rob which isn't near as much fun!!!!

I haven't gotten to that time frame yet. My kids seem to be fighting the idea of having children so far. Good luck, and have fun. It's a precious time.

I need to remove the alternator. What I see is a confined area, and I can't find enough space to remove it. Could be possible to be removed by myself without pay a lot of money? I have mechanical skills.

Hello - They do not have a step by step. If you have mechanical skills you should be just fine. It looks by the pic you may have to go in from the bottom. Or, some vehicles have a removal panel in the fender well area that gives you access to all. I would look there....if so remove tire and press. It also looks like you may have spacers so be careful to see what order they are. I am giving you info for a EX model....is yours the EX or LX? Also please let me know anyway the size of your engine in liter. REMOVAL Fig. 8: Removing & Installing Generator

INSTALLATION 1. Place the alternator and insert a support bolt (Do not insert a nut this time.) 2. After pushing the alternator forward, count that how many spacers (a spacer thickness : 0.198 mm) should be inserted between the alternator front leg and front case as shown in "A". 3. After inserting spacers, insert and tighten a nut securely. Fig. 14: Measuring For Spacers Courtesy of KIA MOTORS AMERICA, INC.

My car suddenly started lunging or jumping and accessory lights began flashing and a/c quit working and shortly thereafter the car died. No power to anything. Replaced battery (battery previously in car wrong battery come to find out) car ran for a short period and repeated the same. I am wanting to know if it sounds like the alternator or computer or if it could be something electrical? Shortly after I purchased the van the radio quit working and that was about 7 months ago. Whwn I put new battery in radio worked until it right before it died. I am ignorant about cars, but I would like to have some idea before i take it to get it fixed. Thank you in advance, Vickie
