2004 Kia Rio No Spark

I've looked at the pictures, the pistons do not look that bad .. i've seen a lot lot worse and they still worked fine !! .. a good clean up should do the trick .. make sure there is no debris left in the chambers and no scoring .. but by the sounds of your last post you already have it rebuilt ? .. the alteranator does not need to be hooked up as long as the battery has a good bit of power left in it .. the alterantor will not start working untill the engine is actually running .. let me know how you go ?

Dave hey and thanks for the information, it was very helpful on decissions for the future. Had the head redone, and all 16 valves were bent, but the rest of the head was fine. My question now are to make sure the shop that put this head back together has everything back the way it needs to be. For if it's not, I can line up the timing marks and the same thing can happen. I have attached picture for the questions I have for this model. Question: (on all pictures the left is the intake manifold side, and the right is the exhaust manifold side of the cyliner head). On picture 100_1380, shows the top side of the cylinder head. Should the longer cam go to the intake manifold side? On pictures 100_1377, 100_1378, 100_1379, How should the pulleys go back on both cams? The cam pins should be facing which mark on the pulleys, E or I? Check that "I" mark on intake camshaft pulley is aligned with mark on seal plate and "E" mark on exhaust camshaft pulley is aligned with mark on seal plate. Fig. 65: Aligning Camshaft Timing Marks Courtesy of KIA MOTORS AMERICA, INC.
