How to check to if the front sensors are working?

I've just purchased the vehicle listed above si premium. I'm not sure or maybe don't understand if my front sensors collision warning works. I've noticed while driving about it never alert me to anything in close proximity such as a car closely in front of me.
I have the manual just nothing makes sense to me. Can you help?

Hi,

The easiest way to check is to have someone walk closely in front of the vehicle. Try that and let me know if it reacts.

I realize that seems really basic, but it should let us know if they are active. They will not register if something is more than 2 feet away. See list below.
